- Scholarship
The Mary Margaret Trant Nursing Memorial Scholarship was created in memory to assist worthy local nursing students with tuition, books, and equipment related expenses. Please visit the ‘scholarship’ tab above to learn more about this financial grant opportunity, student qualifications and application, as well as see the past 31 inspiring scholarship recipients we have had the honor to help support in their nursing journeys. - Endowment
Together with Salem State University, we have created a $50,000 endowment in support of nursing student certifications. - Stethoscope Donation
One of Mary’s most cherished gifts was her Littmann Stethoscope to help her during clinical studies. Today, we honor her legacy and passion to help others, by pairing with Salem State University’s Department of Nursing to award premium Littmann Stethoscopes to qualified nursing students pursuing careers to care for others with compassion and empathy.
- Nurse Gratitude Letters
Handmade with love from local community members whom they help to treat, 100’s of letters of appreciation are delivered to nurses at hospitals and health facilities in the Boston and Greater Boston area annually. Thank you nurses for your never-ending support and compassion at work! - Care Bags
We recognize and honor working nurse professionals by donating care bags containing thoughtful self-care and work-related essentials. We are always looking to give back to more health care heroes! Contact us if you would like to nominate a nurse or floor of nurses who are deserving of receiving our Care Bags.

🩺 Mary’s Legacy Lives On: Salem State University’s Stethoscope Presentation – Class of 2028 Nursing Students
More than a stethoscope. A symbol of purpose, compassion, and the journey ahead.
On May 19th 2026, Board of Trustee members had the honor of presenting Littmann stethoscopes to Salem State University’s 38 accelerated nursing students in memory of Mary M. Trant and through the incredible generosity of MMTrant Foundation supporters.
Mary’s own Littmann stethoscope meant everything to her — a symbol of the future she dreamed of and the patients she longed to care for. Today, through continued support of our impactful initiatives, her legacy continues in the hands of the next generation of nurses.
May these stethoscopes serve as a reminder to these 38 students (in addition to 30 students awarded stethoscopes the prior year) that the work ahead matters deeply — and that even on the hardest days, compassion changes lives. 💗
